Remember when Savage Garden (one of my favourite bands as a teen) split? Before Darren went solo Daniel did this lil project. It’s just such an upbeat album that will turn any day around from worse to sunshine :) enjoy

Hmmm… Ommm.. OmmmmM
What a shift and turn around. Last week, was mainly sleepy early mornings, awake mid mornings and active right through to late nights.
I am sensing and experiencing after three days off work - Awake early mornings, active through to early evenings, sleep at evenings. I am awake as an owl (and I saw an owl tonight - the third time in my mothers neighborhood - never disrupted by my presence. It is ALWAYS a beautiful sight. An owl just sitting there in peace, looking in one direction toward the night skyline) - I am feeling a great sense of calm. A sense of having connected with some people, helped some friends by just being there…. I feel like I am in the start to an interesting shuffle. Times a changin, priorities re-shifting. When and where will everything stop and reside for the duration of my next natural life cycle? I gather great and wonderful things to come. Through loss comes re birth. a new direction, with action. with unity. love. All things I have already welcomed and express great appreciation for. I look into the worlds eye, I see what is moving around me. I do not let it become a part of me. The scenery will Always change, as will I, However I will change within myself, I will be with myself as I change. The scenery, it comes and it goes. when it comes, I express a sense of wonder, excitement, new found passion, love - when it goes, I appreciate everything shared in that experience. I express looking forward to seeing the scenery in another time, that is not now, and to see how it has changed, grown, evolved…. When looking out into the world, look deeper, closer, look within, when you look within, give it that time, look in all directions. Listen and feel. When you look into the world next time, look closer with more passion, appreciate the world you are in - Then look around. Do you seem them? Do you see those mirrors? What mirrors you ask? Those mirrors, the mirrors that are, you creating the world. you have created the world and the universe around you. This world is all a projection of you. Each person, is a different part of you, just at a different time in life. So all that should matter, is you. To just do within the name of purity and positive values and love. You get out, what you put in. Put in the right and let the other turn into the positive.

Macy Gray

After hearing Macy’s new single, im just on one big Macy Bender :)

CHANGE. It truly is an inevitable thing! In recent weeks, I have written my thoughts on the amount of waste, we as people go through - The experience I had at the start of the year, when sorting through what was waste, food scraps and recycling at a music festival and how it made me realise I needed to change my ways to create the world I want to see. I am SO VERY HAPPY to say, after having these realizations, and having the opportunity to think - I am now moving from putting awareness out there, to encouraging others to think about the amount of waste each individual goes through. A fine example: I went down to my local cafe, and well thankfully the owner is an alternative minded person, who does care what impact she has on the planet. She told me how she takes home all of her recyclable containers home at the end of the day and places them into the right bin. I commented, I am not a fan of the convenience world society has created (ie: through using takeaway containers for coffee, plastic wrap or cardboard for sandwiches and lunch style foods…) I could see I had got her thinking. I know in the early millenium (2000+) there were incentives provided by cafe’s - (Bring in your own coffee cup, save 50 cents) That fad easily dropped away because (like the green bag movement) people began forgetting their reusables. My point from this, when I go into a place that mainly only offers takeaway packaging I do challenge the person serving me to have a think. I went to Boost juice last week, and asked for a glass (to drink my smoothie out of) well - they heard what I was saying, but instead of offering a glass, they went to another business and got another takeaway cup with a different logo. I explained my reasoning for asking for a glass when I realised they had already placed my juice into the other business takeaway cup. Imagine walking into a place like McDonalds (one of the worlds biggest culprits in litter, based on the customers who go there dump rubbish out of bins and not in bins - I have seen the evidence) - I acknowledge while Mc Donalds strive to help by supporting movements like “clean up australia day” - it cancels out when the only packaging they offer is takeaway, (no doubt with the argument they are a fast food store) - I went with my mum to my local Mc Donalds to have a coffee, instantly, the barista went for the takeaway coffee cup, I challenged her (To challenge: to create thought, not to argue or be difficult) - I asked, Could I have my coffee to have here, still she went for the takeaway cup, I added “in a mug” - she seemed surprised… I was surprised. It is not like the restaurant is empty. There were people sitting down, eating, drinking and talking… That is what I believe to eat is about. To stop what you are doing and offer yourself a moment of peace. Eating and drinking is not made to be done on the run… I asked my friend the other day, If I went into Mc Donalds and asked for a chocolate Sundae in a coffee mug (as that is the more environmentally friendly approach) do you think they would understand and act on my request? As I educated the lady with the coffee cup - I do not want to have a coffee, and for two seconds later that cup ends up in the bin, which ultimately WILL end up in landfill. Yes, being cardboard it will break down in to the soil and eventually be gone, but is that the right angle to look at it? Another way to look at it: Someone decided to eat Hungry Jacks, and then goes to the gym (because its the healthy thing to do) but if that person eats Hungry Jacks each time before the gym - will that balance out? My approach is now in my head. When “out” I want to enjoy my time “out” - I will invite a friend or a family member. Yes, I will choose places that offer in house experience (in proper cups and plates) but from time to time, I will endeavour to teach the big contributors of the waste world that other options NEED to be made available. Especially when these places charge either the same amount as leading in hause cafe’s… I encourage everyone here, all of my friends to understand the responsibilities to living in a clean world. When you have had a bit too much to drink (maybe first off try not to write yourself off) and you go to get something to eat to help sober up - don’t be that person who plants rubbish into other peoples lawns or gardens. Different packaging goes into different bins. Ask for a non packaging option - you are ideally paying for it, and then throwing it away.. My position here is not to tell people what to do and don’t do - My position is to share the experience I have been through, and the change I, myself would like to see and create. As the active approach, not the unmotivated approach.
